S. P. S. A . Inauguration – September 17 th, 1994 saw the birth of the S. P. S. A. at the Centenary celebration of the school. Under the guidance of the first President, Mother Bernard, this Association overcame its teething problems and grew.
Management of S. P. S. A. is vested in a Committee and governed by a Constitution. The President, 2 Vice Presidents; Resident and Non Resident, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and six Committee Members are appointed by election.
Aim of S. P. S. A. is to establish a close relationship among the past student and with the school. Today we have 1509 (19/05/2018) members, scattered all over the world, but united under one banner unfurling the motto – “ Ora et Labora “, thereby being drawn closer to their Alma Mater.
Eligibility – A Past student of S. H. Y. is eligible for membership if she/he has been in this school for atleast one year and has completed upto Std X and has attained the age of 15 years.
Application for Membership Admission Forms are made to the President of the S. P. S. A., Sacred Heart Girls’ School, Yercaud – 636601, filled and returned to the President along with the applicant’s passport size photograph in colour.
Membership fee of Rs. 1000/- is to be paid when the applicant receives intimation of her/his acceptance of membership and the receipt along with the by-laws will be sent.
An Annual General Body Meeting is held the evening prior to the Annual Sports of the school and is followed by a Social cum Dinner.
Newsletter “Echoes from S. H. Y. “ is a communication sent annually to all Members, which gives an account of all the happenings and events in the school and Association. Newsletter will be posted to those members who have Indian Residential Addresses only and for those overseas, the Newsletter will be available in this website every year.
Reunion – “Every year, past students of S. H. Y. of a particular zone in India organize a Get-together. Such reunions enable past students to meet and exchange news and views and relive their school days. Reunions have already been held at Sivakasi, Madurai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kodaikanal, Trichy, Coimbatore, Cochin and Rajapalayam. Chennai hosted the second time i n 2010.”
