Co-Curricular Activities
Interact Club (Rotary International Service):
The purpose of this club is to provide opportunity for our young students to recognise and develop leadership and personal integrity and to open avenues of personal and group action leadership to the advancement of international understanding and good will towards all peoples.
Accounts Club:
Accounts is a wider branch of study. Through the club, opening a door to students, getting out of the book’s knowledge and wake them more curious about this field. Through the club conducting interactions with experts, debates, quiz etc., make them more aware about this area of knowledge.
Business Club:
Business is the growing branch of knowledge. Business club help the students to find the business persons inside of them. Conducting discussions, interactions with experts in business field etc., create more entrepreneurs in future.
Economics Club:
The intend of the economics club is to provide students with a chance to expand their understanding of Economics and its issues and how they relate to the world at large. We aim to accomplish this goal through organizing meetings, debates and public events.
Law Club:
The motive of the Law Club is to facilitate awareness and interest in various current legal issues. The Club activities help the students to sensitize about current happenings through panel discussions, competitions and role play. These provide opportunities and to share ideas and develop their knowledge of law in practice.
Abacus:
Abacus learning is one of the best ways to improve arithmetic skills and number fluency. Abacus is introduced in our school curriculum as a regular subject not only to develop an interest and passion for math but also to boost brain power along with strengthening math skills in children of class I to VIII.
Literary Associations:
Our school Literary Association (Senior Literary and Junior Literary Association) play a significant role to unleash the creative skills in children and to elevate the confidence. It also improves the communication skills and instill reading habits. Recitation, story telling, book review, newsletter, spell bee, skit competition etc., are the few Literary club activities organised in our school.
Guides and Bulbuls:
Guides and Bulbuls is an integral part of SHY. Students learn important life skills, team building, outdoor adventure and fun. Various activities like cooking, camp fire, tracking are held through out the year.
Western Music:
The school is a one stop destination for anything and everything related to music. Since its establishment the school extent classes for Piano, Guitar, Violin, Keyboard, Drums and Trumpets etc., The Examinations are conducted by Trinity Collage of London every year. Our school is a paradise for children to learn various musical instruments.
Karate and Yoga:
Building reflexes to stand up to a threat is important for children. Learning self-defence maneuvers a key skill. It instils a sense of awareness and confidence and empower children with the ability to protect themselves and the Yoga class enhance motor skills, co- ordination and over all physical fitness to our students.
Dance:
As a part of the school curriculum SHY provides an exclusive training to the students in Indian and Western Dance. Dance is taught across all grades by an experienced team of erudite mentors.
MUN:
Public speaking is a quality which everyone wants to encompass, but only those get command over it grab the opportunities given to them. To provide a holistic platform where students discuss various local, National and International concerns is the main objective of our school MUN which make them intellectuals. So that they can be part of problem – solving entities. Our SHY MUN members keep participating in various conferences in different schools and become centre of attraction with solid points and won many awards.
Excursions and Field Trips:
Travel expands pupil’s horizons and school life cannot be complete without the fun of educational tours and excursions. An annual excursion is organized for the students to visit various places to enrich them and to take learning beyond the four walls of the class room. It also facilitates the students to reach out for the information beyond the text books.
